Wildlife viewing is a very popular activity around Kodiak. With more than 200 species of birds (including 2 types of Puffins), 5 types of whales, as well as otters, seals, and sea lions, Alaska’s wildlife will take your breath away.
If you’re planning on wildlife viewing, follow these tips to make sure you get the most out of your experience:
• Take along your best camera equipment and a pair of binoculars
• Dress for the weather and remember it’s often much cooler on and near the water
• Use sunscreen and sunglasses for protection from the glare of the ocean
• Be patient & hope for the best!
